CEP compression sportswear: with pressure on the path to success
Intelligent products for every type of sport
"The intelligent sportswear": this is CEP's new claim. The Bayreuth-based compression specialist is presenting a totally new image this year. As a pioneer in the industry, CEP originally focussed on the area of running and triathlons and is already well-established there. Many professional and recreational athletes can confirm this. The medi subsidiary now covers a wide range of sports. The basis of its success is the unique technology medi compression. In addition, the ADDITUS+ system and the RECOVERING+ system ensure that each product is tailored to the athlete, providing him with suitable support as well as an improved feeling of well-being. A modern design rounds off the new concept.
It was the love of sport that led to the creation of a new company division in Bayreuth in 2007 under the wing of medi, the leading manufacturer in the area of medical compression garments. With CEP compression sportswear, the traditional family firm medi is contributing its experience from six decades of research and development work on the effect of compression in the areas of both recreational and high-performance sports. With their compressive sportswear, the 1,500 employees worldwide have set and established a trend.
CEP unites triathletes, skiers and members of the national football team
What do the triathlete Timo Bracht, national football player Lukas Podolski and downhill racer Maria Riesch have in common? They all trust the positive effect of CEP compression sportswear. The pioneer was Timo Bracht: it was back in 2006, while competing in Ironman on Hawaii, that he became the first professional sportsman to trust the effect of compressive sportswear. Since then, CEP's intelligent products have become indispensable for Bracht. In 2010, only six weeks after gaining sixth place in Hawaii, he won the Ironman in Arizona. Since these beginnings, the running socks are now part of the basic kit for many thousands of starters in fun runs and open races throughout Europe.
Since 2008, CEP has also been the official supplier to the German Ski Association teams and is thus represented on ski jumps, downhill pistes and biathlon courses all over the world. For this year's ‘Four Hills Tournament’, an annual international ski jumping event in Germany and Austria, the compression specialist was featured in the first TV spot in the company's history, which rounded off a successful winter campaign focussing on the ski socks.
CEP is also clearly expanding its involvement in team sports. Since the 2010/11 season, the basketball players in the Beko National League team BBC Bayreuth have been wearing CEP socks when they play.
Six decades of experience with compression
Some unique know-how has gone into CEP compression sportswear: medi compression makes it possible to integrate the compression threads into the circular-knit material with absolute precision. The result is a physiologically perfect pressure profile for more performance and improved stamina. The ADDITUS+ system has been newly developed. It combines the correctly dosed compression with specific features for each sport. This means that every athlete is ideally supported. Thanks to the RECOVERING+ system, the recovery compression socks guarantee an improved feeling of well-being through the fastest possible regeneration of the muscles before and after sports. The highest quality standards and a scientifically tested increase in circulation and performance round off the profile of the CEP products.
